Jacquemin Farms in Plain City, OH

We always end up at Jacquemin Farms in Plain City, OH at some point for their Fall Field Days. It is a smaller farm in regards to what they offer for fall activities, but that is what I like about it. I don’t stress about the kids getting too far from me, and there is just enough fun to fill a weekday afternoon.  During the entire month of October, the farm offers hayrides, pick-your-own-pumpkins, lots of fall veggies at their general store, and a play area for the kiddies. Hayrides are given on the weekends for $1/person, and the kids play space is open during the week after 3pm and all day on weekends (weather permitting). The play space has three large air toys, grain boxes, and a hay barn that includes a maze. The cost is $5/child, $2/child if the air toys aren’t on, and children 2 and under are free.

Their site says the play space is great for kids 10 and under, but 10 may be a bit too old. The play space is on the small side (if you are looking for a “farm amusement park,” check out Leed’s in Ostrander or Pigeon Roost in Hebron), which is better suited for toddlers, preschoolers, and younger elementary aged children. I would suggest visiting after school hours on the weekdays or go on the weekend. They have lots of field trips during the week, but just call ahead to check for the day you plan to go. Jacquemin provides picnic tables, port-o-potties, and snacks for sale such as donuts, popcorn, candy – if you prefer something that’s not a treat, bring it yourself. Parking is fairly close to everything and is free. They have pumpkins lining the front of the farm for sale for those who prefer to grab and go.

If you want to enjoy some fall fun, be sure to check out Jacquemin Farms. This farm is perfect for families who want to pick pumpkins and let the kids play for a bit on a crisp fall day.
